Anger can be expressed in many different ways. Some people get angry and use it where it is not appropriate and others get angry and use it as an advantage in a sport. Kickboxing is a great sport known to be good for letting out frustration and anger. At Double Dose Muay Thai you are taught a technique in class, you must know the technique before you can put all your strength into it and practice it on the punching bags. Without realizing it you are learning patience while being taught the technique and you are learning to let your frustration out on the bag once you have the basic steps of the technique. Every person that does Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu Jitzu and any sport need to also learn how to keep control. When practicing techniques and learning new strategies you must know how to control yourself and know when it is time to put all of your force and what some people may see as let out all of your anger, the reason why is because students do not always learn techniques on the bags and by themselves they work together in partners. When working together in partners it helps each student see how the technique is supposed to be done properly and exactly where on the body the combination should land. Without practicing on each other students will not be able to see how a visual for when they really need to perform the combination. When partnering up, students do not hurt each other they go back and forth practicing the technique softly unless they are using thai pads or belly pads. If one person can not control their anger and hits their partner hard because they weren’t able to resist then when it is their partners turn to do the combination they will become angry and return the combination with anger. That can create drama that is unnecessary. That is why from the beginning the instructors teach you to how to control yourself and learn the technique properly. The instructors also make sure that they remind you at all times when it is ok to put force into a technique and combination. If you tend to get angry and don’t know how to let your frustration out Muay Thai Kickboxing is a great way to help you.
