Teachers and instructors need to be acknowledged for all of their hard work. They work hard everyday to make sure their students are on track with all of the techniques and skills. They make sure everything is being run properly around the gym so that everyone can feel comfortable and be in a productive environment. Have you ever wondered how much of their own personal time they have worked in order to make the Muay Thai gym so successful? As a teacher it is nice when students acknowledge how hard they have been working and when they know that their hard work is being noticed. It only takes a few minutes of your time to acknowledge them for the long hours the teachers work. Whether you take in a gift or stop and say thank you the teachers for all of their hard work, they will appreciate it. Instructors at Double Dose Muay Thai gym tell their students about all the Muay Thai traditions so they aware of them and they can feel more connected to Muay Thai.
Every year the Thai Boxing Association of the USA celebrates Teacher’s Day on October 16th. Respect and discipline are expected from every student as it should be every day. Every year on October 16th gifts are given to instructors from their students to show appreciation and respect. It is not mandatory but it is a tradition if students wish to keep the tradition going. The gift that is given to the instructors usually consists of flowers. The gift also includes one candle, three sticks of incense, small amount of uncooked rice (about half a cup) and a piece of fruit in a bowl. If you also wish to send Ajarn Chai a gift his address is located on the Thai Boxing Association website. Ajarn Chai is the founder and the president of TBA-USA and is recognized every year by a lot of people in the US. Do not forget to show appreciation today on this day of acknowledgment to your Muay Thai teachers.
